Botanical sewing for Mothers Day
This project involved making a shopping bag to give Mum on Mothers Day. It incorporated some hand sewing - making the flower, sewing the stem and sewing on the leaves. The stem was made by sewing a line and then weaving embroidery thread through. We decided that now the children are getting competent on the machine, a little hand sewing is good practice! 9 Young Quilters attended, including one boy who really enjoyed using the sewing machine!
